Sophomore club Western United and a new-look Adelaide United open the A-League season amid a reshuffled early-season schedule.
Western United stormed to a fifth-place finish and a semi-final berth – eventually eliminated by Melbourne City – in a highly impressive debut campaign. Marc Rudan remains in charge of a relatively stable roster.
Adelaide missed the 2020 playoffs by a point and have had a high player turnover during the off-season.
