Two-match ban for Roar slapper Henrique

Brisbane Roar striker Henrique was on Monday given the minimum punishment of a two-match ban for his act of revenge against Perth skipper Jacob Burns.

Henrique was given a straight red card on Saturday night, having slapped Burns in the face in the 65th minute of the A-League game in Perth.

The Brazilian retaliated after copping an elbow, which was deemed accidental, to the face from Burns just moments earlier as the pair contested a ball.

The visitors were already 3-0 ahead and the Glory couldn’t profit from having an extra man.

The FFA match review panel confirmed that Henrique committed the offence of assault when not challenging for the ball.

The two-match sanction comprises the mandatory penalty for the red card plus one game for the assault.
