Sow signs Fenerbahce deal

Lille striker Moussa Sow has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Fenerbahce, the Turkish club say.

The 26-year-old Senegal international had a medical check in Istanbul on Friday and Fenerbahce reported on their official website that he had signed a deal until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Reports in Africa suggest Sow has agreed a contract worth 3.2 million euros ($A3.96 million) a year with Fenerbahce.

“Ourselves and Lille have agreed a deal for Moussa Sow to wear our colours,” the statement on www.fenerbahce.org read.

“Moussa Sow went to the Universal Hospital Camlica for a medical and then to the club’s headquarters where he signed the official contract.

“We wish him well in the Fenerbahce shirt.”

Sow told the official website: “There were of course a lot of teams interested but this was the club I really wanted to join.

“I’m very happy. As soon as I arrived I was very happy to see the excitement here. I’m looking forward to playing in front of Fenerbahce fans.”

Sow finished as the top goalscorer in Ligue 1 last season, firing 25 goals as Lille won the title.

Sow signed the deal after flying in from Equatorial Guinea where his national team are competing in the African Nations Cup.

Defeats in their opening two games mean Senegal’s participation in the African Cup will end after Sunday’s game against Libya.
