After drawing the toughest group in the 2014 World Cup, Australia is expected to be sent home from Brazil without achieving a win. Sportingbet Australia has priced the Socceroos a $3.50 chance to win a game, with no wins a short priced favourite at $1.28.
The Socceroos face 2010 World Cup champions Spain, 2010 World Cup runners-up The Netherlands and strong South American contender Chile in the group stage.

“Our best hope is against Chile and Australia is rated a $5.50 outsider to win that match. A win against any of the teams in the group stage would be a monumental achievement.”
Australia’s draw is so tough, Sportingbet has opened a market on whether the Socceroos will even score.
“We have the Socceroos $1.18 to find the back of the net at least once in their three group games but we expect plenty of interest in the Aussies going goalless at $4.50,” Felgate said.
