With only one match standing between the Socceroos and their plane tickets to Brazil, online bookmaker sportsbet have firmed Australia from $1.25 to $1.03 to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.
After last night’s impressive performance against Jordan, their odds not to qualify have ballooned from $3.75 to $11.
However punters think they are an unlikely chance to do any damage if they get there, priced at $251 to win the World Cup.
The Socceroos face Iraq in their next qualification match, priced as the $1.20 favourites, with the draw at $5.20, and the visitors at $11.50 to win.
“On the back of Tuesday’s triumph, along with Iraq no longer a chance to qualify, punters appear confident that the stage is set for another celebration in Sydney next week, where the Socceroos will hopefully secure their World Cup spot,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Brigitte Lowsby.
