Scott Parker was today chosen by interim boss Stuart Pearce to captain England in the friendly against Holland at Wembley tonight.
He will lead out his country just days after the Tottenham midfielder was sent off during his side’s north London derby defeat against Arsenal, the latest of a series of up-and-down moments the 31-year-old has endured over the last two years.
