Jason Roberts scored the only goal when Reading defeated Burnley 1-0 on Friday to take his team into third place in the Championship.
Reading captain Jobi McAnuff, returning after hernia surgery, set up the goal in the 11th minute when he raced to the byline and pulled the ball back to Roberts, who found the left-hand corner.
It was the Roberts’ third goal in four games since arriving from Blackburn last month.
