In their 20 year history, Brisbane Roar have never been “awarded” the A-League’s wooden spoon, however that looks likely to change this season.

Their 1-0 loss at home to Perth in December is the reason they sit behind the Glory on the ladder although their recent form is starting to suggest an uptick in results with three draws from their last four outings.

Perth on the other had has five points from their last five matches and that is in large part down to their much improved defence, that has only conceded five goals in their last five home games.

Gone are the wild 5-3 results in the late Saturday matches, and it seems unlikely to change this weekend given both teams relatively wasteful performances in front of goal.

There is no reason to feel confident backing either side and this could be a case of first team to score wins.
