Two sides with Champions League ambitions face off here and while it’s way too early to call this a decisive match in the race for the top four, getting an early season confidence boost is going to be important for both clubs.

They bring identical form lines into the match with a win and a draw to date, however Spurs will be buzzing after their 4-0 demolition of Everton last weekend.

Newcastle on the other hand were held to a 1-1 draw by a resolute Bournemouth outfit but their 1-0 win over Southampton on the opening day will give them something to build on.

Last season the Magpies trounced Spurs 4-0 at St James’ Park and while they would love another decisive result like that, it seems unlikely that will be repeated given Tottenham’s effort last weekend.
