The Jets are coming off an impressive 2-1 away win at Perth which pushed them up to 7th on the ladder and only two points off a top 6 spot.
It was their first win in eight matches and only their second of the season.
There were many positives to take out of a very rare win in Perth, having not won there in more than 4000 days!
One positive was the many chances they created over the 90 minutes and having key players back from injury was a huge boost.
The Reds were thumped 4-0 by the Roar and are still rooted to the bottom of the table.
While plenty of focus will be around Adelaide’s inability to score and their leaky defence, it’s the morale within the squad that really needs a lift right now.
Last year they came back from last to win the championship but this season they’ll struggle to make the top 6.
After a great win against the Phoenix in round 9, you could feel that things weren’t quite falling their way against the Roar and now they have a fight to get back on track again.
The good news is that Adelaide have not lost to the Jets in their last six meetings including a 1-1 draw in round 1 this season but Newcastle will feel very confident they can turn it around and grab a home victory.
KEY BATTLE: Andrew Hoole v Marcelo Carrusca
Two attacking midfielders who can be the key for their respective sides.
Hoole scored last week and will want to add to his tally while Carrusca (pictured above) can win games singlehandedly when he’s in-form.
The Jets are confident but the Reds have a great record against them, so I see this one ending in a draw
