Napoli are urging their fans to behave when Chelsea are in town for the Champions League second round, first leg on Tuesday.
Over the last 18 months some fans of opposition teams such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have been stabbed while visiting Naples to watch their team in European competition.
And fearing a UEFA sanction should their fans misbehave again, Napoli have asked their supporters to respect the occasion.
“We strongly call on fans to respect the current norms in security matters in line with UEFA rules,” a club statement said.
“Norms that if violated would provoke a stadium ban and hence compromise other big international events here.
“We ask you not to use smoke bombs or pyrotechnical materials, keep the stairways and all other emergency exits free and don’t use the third tier which, as has been made clear, is closed to the public.
“We invite you contribute to a sporting evening with respect to a serene climate and the authentic passion of Napoli fans.”
