Even in a week featuring the Big Blue, there’s a live case to be made for the match of the round occurring on Saturday night, when the second-placed City host the third-placed Perth Glory.
City have mixed their form a little of late but have also been winning a lot more than they haven’t and that has been telling in their position on the ladder. They were too good for the lowly Jets in Week 15, but it’s hard to line up the form against a team of that calibre heading into a match like this one.
The Glory’s return to form has been something to watch this season and they look to be about the only club capable of testing runaway leaders Sydney FC. Their performance and result in this will be telling of their overall position in the league. I think they’re up to it.
