The Melbourne Derby is typically one of the better rivalries that we are treated to in the A-League each season and regardless of form, we should be in for another good one on Saturday.
City’s somewhat shaky form of late was stemmed last week in impressive fashion; absolutely dominating the Newcastle Jets from kick off and ultimately walking away on the right side of a 4-0 score line. They have re-affirmed themselves as title contenders and remain second in overall standings.
The Victory have been nothing short of awful this season, particularly by their usual lofty standards and enter this match with only two wins to their name, and off the back of a draw at home to Wellington which saw Kristijan Dobras red carded. They’re sure to lift for this match, but I don’t think that they will go with City for the full 90.
