With more than £100million spent on a key pair of summer signings, Manchester United will begin its 2021/22 campaign against Leeds at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

After years of speculation, the Red Devils finally landed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho will join a United attack which scored the second-highest number of goals (73) in the Premiership last season, en route to finishing second behind Manchester City in the title race.

Six of those goals were scored during a 6-2 victory over Leeds when these clubs last met at Old Trafford, although their more recent matchup wasn’t anywhere near as high-octane, resulting in a 0-0 draw at Elland Road during April.

That result contributed to an outstanding finish to last campaign from Leeds, which included seven wins, two draws and just one loss from its final 10 Premier League matches.

As such, this could be a highly competitive fixture.
