Manchester City accept Balotelli ban

Manchester City have accepted Mario Balotelli’s four-match ban for violent conduct in Sunday’s match against Tottenham.

The Football Association confirmed on Wednesday that City informed them they would not be challenging the suspension, which was punishment for Balotelli’s apparent stamp on Scott Parker at the Etihad Stadium.

Balotelli will miss Wednesday night’s Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Liverpool, as well as the Barclays Premier League encounters with Everton, Fulham and Aston Villa.

But the 21-year-old striker would be available for the Carling Cup final against Cardiff at Wembley on Sunday, February 26, should City overturn their one-goal deficit against Liverpool.
