Lucerne could only close the gap on Super League leaders Basel by a point after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to FC Zurich on Saturday night.
Jahmir Hyka fired Lucerne into the lead in the 37th minute but Josip Drmic equalised six minutes after the break to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.
The draw left second-placed Lucerne six points off Basel, who have a game in hand.
