Unable to reclaim the ascendancy in the title race against Manchester United, Liverpool will return to Premier League action against Burnley on Thursday night.

The Reds’ 0-0 draw marked just the third time in 35 Premier League matches at Anfield they have failed to win.

Burnley is one of the other two clubs that managed to take a point at Liverpool, having fought for a 1-1 draw in the latest Premier League fixture between these clubs.

Even so, the Clarets should be hard pressed to replicate that display on Thursday if their recent top-flight form is to go by.

They have lost three of their last four EPL matches by a 1-0 scoreline, while their only triumph came against Sheffield United.

With that said, Liverpool’s recent form doesn’t provide full confidence in its ability to claim three points, with more than a month gone by since the club won a Premier League fixture.
