Jackson wants Norwich to get moving

Simeon Jackson believes Norwich’s 1-1 draw with QPR could kickstart their season following an abysmal start.

The Canaries will be seeking their first win of the campaign when they host Scunthorpe in the second round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.

Thrashed 5-0 by Fulham on the opening day of the English Premier League, they needed a vastly improved display to restore morale.

Jackson, who struck the opener against QPR, was impressed by the response from his team-mates.

“It was a good performance at home, especially after the result against Fulham last week,” he told Canaries Player.

“It’s never easy on the back of a result like last weekend, but the lads reacted well.

“We didn’t get three points, but it’s a good result and hopefully we can carry on with that now.

“I’m delighted to score. We will build on that goal as a team and individually, and carry it on for the season.

“Hopefully we’ll get some more results between now and the end of the season.”

Jackson was omitted from the squad against Fulham, but celebrated his return with Norwich’s first goal of the season.

Now the Canada striker hopes to have an extended run in the side.

“I came into the team for the match and I want to stay in the team to show what I can do,” he said.

“Hopefully my performance will show that. It was also a good team performance and we must build on it.

“We had chances to win in the second half, but it wasn’t meant to be and we’ll take positives from it.

“You need to win your home games, and I think we created enough chances to win it.

“We’ll certainly take those plus points into the next game though.”
