Huth agrees to a new three-year Stoke deal

Defender Robert Huth has signed a three-year contract extension to remain at Stoke until 2016.

Huth has become an integral figure at the heart of the Stoke defence since his then club-record STG6 million ($A9.4 million) move from Middlesbrough in 2009, as Stoke have established themselves in the Barclays Premier League.

“I am delighted that it has all been sorted out before the start of the season,” he said.

“I’ve had a fantastic time here, the best three years of my career. It’s been great to play a big part in the club’s progress over that period, but also to gain some personal recognition with the Player-of-Year awards which I won at the end of the last two seasons.”

“I have ambitions in the game and I am relishing the chance to achieve them here at this football club, so I can’t wait for the new season to come around.”
