Glory star Sterjovski heading to China

Perth Glory star Mile Sterjovski has flown to China on Tuesday to undergo a medical for his move from the A-League club to Chinese Super League team Dalian Aerbin.

The Glory will terminate Sterjovski’s final two months of his contract if he passes the medical and agrees terms with Dalian.

“Mile has received an offer which he couldn’t refuse,” Glory coach Ian Ferguson said.

“Perth Glory has never stood in the way of players wanting to play overseas and it’s a blow to lose Mile at this stage of the season.

“But we are not the only A-League club in this situation, and the contracts players are being offered in Asia is something we can’t match at the moment.”

The former Socceroo joined the Glory in 2009, making 58 A-League appearances and scoring 15 goals for the club, after stints in France, Switzerland, Turkey and England.

His departure comes at a bad time for the Glory, who are fourth on the ladder nearing the competition’s finals.

The 32-year-old has made 12 appearances this season for the Glory, scoring four goals.
