Fenerbahce edge closer to Galatasaray

Fenerbahce are now within three points of Super Lig leaders Galatasaray after a 2-0 victory over third-placed Besiktas on Sunday.

Joseph Yobo opened the scoring for the hosts after 14 minutes before Moussa Sow wrapped up the points in stoppage time with a debut goal following his arrival from Lille during the transfer window.

The victory saw Fener keep the pressure on Galatasaray, who defeated Gaziantepspor on Saturday, but was a huge blow for Besiktas, who are now nine points off the pace.

Ermin Zec’s last-gasp goal saw Genclerbirligi climb to fourth courtesy of a 3-2 victory at Kayserispor.

Goals by James Troisi (45) and Cristian Riveros (45) had twice seen hosts Kayserispor draw level after Genclerbirligi went ahead first through Aykut Demir (27) and then Herve Tum (57) but they did not have chance to respond a third time after Zec struck in stoppage time.

A brace apiece by Kivanc Karakas and Erman Kilic and an injury-time strike by Jan Rajnoch lifted Sivasspor to a 5-1 win at Mersin Idmanyurdu, who replied through Tonia Tisdell.

The match between Bursaspor and Orduspor ended goalless.
