Football Federation Australia boss Ben Buckley has confirmed Brisbane will host the Socceroos’ 2014 World Cup qualifier against Japan on June 12.
Australia will open their fourth-round qualifying campaign away against Oman just four days earlier.
The Socceroos can book a spot in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with a top-two finish in Group B.
“This will be a very early test against the Asian champions and the outcome will shape the group,” Buckley said in Brisbane on Wednesday.
“But we all know our players thrive on these challenges.”
