Fresh off a point against Macarthur last Saturday, Brisbane returns home to take on the Sky Blues, who they only saw three weeks prior in the Australia Cup Final.

It was Sydney emerging victorious on that occasion and they also beat Brisbane 2-0 at Suncorp in the penultimate round of last season to keep their finals charge alive.

However there were some concerning signs for Sydney in their opening round loss at the hands of Melbourne Victory, with the side dominating possession but failing to do a whole lot of anything with it.

Brisbane’s shortcomings at striker were what held them back last week and while young gun Thomas Waddingham looks set to return this week (at the time of publish), it might not solve all of their problems.

The last two A-League meetings between the sides have hit the under and I’m expecting a bit of an arm wrestle, especially with some potential weather impacting the match too.
