Bleiberg quits as United coach: report

Miron Bleiberg has reportedly quit as coach of A-League club Gold Coast United.

Bleiberg was suspended by the club earlier this week for saying a decision to name 17-year-old Mitch Cooper as team captain for the clash against Melbourne Heart was merely a “ceremonial” gesture.

And the outspoken coach has reportedly walked out saying the decision by controversial chairman Clive Palmer had taken away his dignity.

Assistant coach Mike Mulvey, who took the reins for the 1-0 loss to the Heart, is now expected to take over the position until the end of the season.
