Manchester City says striker Mario Balotelli has been fined a week’s wages for breaking a club curfew after being pictured outside a strip club less than 48 hours before a match.
The controversial Italy international violated club regulations by visiting a club in Liverpool in the early hours of Friday morning.
City played Bolton in the Premier League on Saturday, with Balotelli scoring in a 2-0 win.
Balotelli is reported in the British media to earn STG120,000 ($A180,000) a week.
City manager Roberto Mancini said on Wednesday that “every player should have good behaviour before the game”.
Balotelli has generated numerous headlines for his off-the-field antics since joining City in 2010.
