It’s not the most inspiring fixture to begin the weekend with, as both of these clubs look to bounce back from opening day defeats.

Villa were unable to capitalise on a heavy majority of possession (66%) against Bournemouth, going down 2-0, while Everton were unable to spring an upset against an out of sorts Chelsea side falling to a 1-0 defeat.

What both sides will be concerned about after those respective results is the lack of potency in front of goal.

Aston Villa’s attacking stocks are much stronger than Everton’s but the latter appears to have a certain resiliency that will help them stay in games like this.

It might be a case of first goal wins and I’ll back the unders to hopefully start Matchweek 2 on a winning note.
