Anderlecht extend lead at the top

Anderlecht have extended their lead at the top of the Jupiler League to seven points with a 4-2 win over Genk.

Genk on Sunday took the lead after eight minutes through Christian Benteke but the home side were level seconds later through Matias Suarez.

Sacha Kljestan (36) and Dieudonne Mbokani (61) fired Anderlecht 3-1 ahead and, after substitute Elyaniv Barda (64) had pulled a goal back, Mbokani’s second of the game sealed the win 10 minutes from time.

There were also six goals in the game between Club Brugge and Beerschot, with Brugge winning 5-1.

Joseph Akpala, Mushaga Bakenga and Maxime Lestienne put the home side 3-0 ahead after just 28 minutes.

Vusimuzi Nyoni pulled a goal back 10 minutes before the interval but Akpala (41) and Lestienne (61) both found the net again to complete the win and draw Brugge level on points with second-placed Gent.
