This is not a great spot for Melbourne City, taking on a supremely confident Adelaide side on the back of a long midweek trip to Thailand for their Asian Champions League.

Having already dropped their first game to Western United, Rado Vidosic’s side will be eager to avoid falling into a two game hole.

Adelaide won’t make it easy on them and I’m not convinced that Round 1 win was a sign of things to come, rather taking advantage of an opponent having a bad night.

I’ll give City the benefit of the doubt, they have the talent to bounce back from this and ideally for them, the Wednesday to Sunday turnaround at least maximises their recovery time.
