Wallaby Douglas to have surgery on knee

Wallabies lock Kane Douglas faces surgery on his injured left knee this week, with MRI scans confirming a ruptured ACL, suffered during Australia’s Rugby World Cup final loss to New Zealand.

The 26-year-old hurt his knee when he fell awkwardly just 15 minutes into the decider on Sunday morning (AEDT) and took no further part in the match at Twickenham.

Following his surgery later this week, Douglas will go into rehabilitation under the Queensland Super Rugby medical and high performance staff.

Douglas was one of only eight Wallabies to play in every match at the World Cup, taking his career tally to 23 Test caps since making his debut for Australia in 2012.
