Tahs would love code hopper Hayne

NSW Waratahs lock Dean Mumm says his Super Rugby franchise is a good home for code hoppers and he would love to see former NRL star and NFL player Jarryd Hayne join them.

Hayne is expected to make a decision on his sporting future in coming weeks after revealing on Monday that he’d missed out on selection for Fiji’s Olympic rugby sevens squad, though his chances of playing rugby in Australia are diminished by the fact he won’t qualify for an ARU top-up payment because he has already represented Fiji.

“Izzy’ (Israel Folau) has played a couple of sports so we’re always a good home for someone who has been around a couple of different codes,” second rower Mumm said on Monday.

The Waratahs have a history of signing league converts as backs including the likes of Wallabies Lote Tuqiri, Mat Rogers, Wendell Sailor, Timana Tahu and Israel Folau.
