The Stormers held off a spirited second-half charge from the Cheetahs to clinch a 16-14 Super Rugby victory at a packed Newlands Stadium on Saturday.
It was the proverbial game of two halves, with the Stormers dominant in the first 40 minutes as they put on 16 unanswered points.
But the Cheetahs have been involved in their fair share of dramatic turnarounds this season and threatened to pull this one in their favour, as converted tries from Hennie Daniller and Willie le Roux made it a two-point game with 14 minutes remaining.
However, the Stormers held their nerve and their defence in the final stages.
