Smith, Simmons return to Reds line-up

Queensland have recalled veterans George Smith and Rob Simmons into their starting side for Saturday’s Super Rugby clash with the Hurricanes in Brisbane.

Flanker Smith, who was scheduled for a rest before being a late bench call-up in last week’s loss to the Jaguares, replaces Hendrick Tui in the back row.

An ankle injury to lock Izack Rodda allows Wallaby Simmons to return to the starting XV after being dropped from the squad to face the Jaguares.

Queensland Reds: Karmichael Hunt, Chris Kuridrani, Samu Kerevi, Duncan Paia’aua, Eto Nabuli, Jake McIntrye, James Tuttle, Scott Higginbotham, George Smith, Adam Korczyk, Kane Douglas, Rob Simmons, Sam Talakai, Stephen Moore (capt), Markus Vanzati. Replacements: Andrew Ready, Kirwan Sanday, Taniela Tupou, Lukhan Tui, Hendrik Lui, Nick Frisby, Hamish Stewart, Izaia Perese.
