NSW Waratahs flanker Jack Dempsey is expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks despite not requiring surgery, while prop Sekope Kepu is in doubt for Friday’s Super Rugby match against the Rebels in Melbourne.

Dempsey suffered an ankle injury in Saturday’s home loss to the Brumbies while Kepu was concussed.

“It’s obviously a six-day turnaround so we’re right on the deadline around his situation,” Waratahs forwards’ coach Cam Blades said on Monday.
