Reds’ Gill cops two-week, one-game ban

Queensland Reds flanker Liam Gill has copped a two-week ban but will only miss one game for his wrestling-style throw on Brumbies halfback Nic White.

Super Rugby judicial officer Robert Stelzner handed Gill the ban on Monday for an illegal lifting tackle on fellow Wallaby White in his team’s loss to the Brumbies on Saturday night.

However, the suspension period includes the Reds’ bye this week, meaning Gill will miss only the home match with South Africa’s struggling Lions on March 27.
