Ralepelle, Kirchner join Springboks squad

FP – South Africa has added hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle and fullback Zane Kirchner to its touring squad for Rugby Championship games in Australia and New Zealand next month.

The squad is otherwise unchanged from the group that travelled to Argentina last week and the 28 players will leave South Africa on Saturday ahead of tests in Australia on September 7 and New Zealand a week later.

The Springboks face the weight of history on tour when they play the Wallabies at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and the All Blacks at Eden Park in Auckland.

South Africa has never beaten Australia at Suncorp Stadium and last beat New Zealand at Eden Park in 1937.

South Africa and world champion New Zealand top the four-nation Rugby Championship standings after both opened with successive wins.
