Polota-Nau named to start for Waratahs

Wallabies hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau returns to the NSW Waratahs’ starting team for the first time in nine weeks when they attempt to extend their Super Rugby resurgence against the Cheetahs.

Veteran Polota-Nau takes over from young gun Hugh Roach for Saturday’s round 11 home clash in the only change to the starting 15 that beat the Stormers 32-20 in Cape Town last weekend.

He is making his way back from a fractured arm suffered in the second round loss to the Brumbies in Canberra.

The Tahs return to their home ground after away wins over the Western Force in Perth and the Stormers left them level on points with the Brumbies and just two points behind the Australian conference-leading Melbourne Rebels.

NSW Waratahs: Andrew Kellaway, Reece Robinson, Israel Folau, Kurtley Beale, Rob Horne, Bernard Foley, Nick Phipps, Jed Holloway, Michael Hooper (capt), Dean Mumm, Will Skelton, David Dennis, Tom Robertson, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Paddy Ryan. Reserves: Hugh Roach, Jeremy Tilse, Angus Taavao, Sam Lousi, Wycliff Palu, Matt Lucas, David Horwitz, Matt Carraro.
