Wallabies flanker David Pocock could become the world’s highest-paid rugby player if he accepts a suggested multi-million dollar deal to play in England.
According to Britain’s The Daily Telegraph, English club Wasps have contacted Pocock’s representatives and indicated they’d be prepared to offer Pocock a package in excess of the STG1.4 million ($A2.82 million) a season that French club Racing 92 are paying World Cup-winning five eighth Dan Carter.
Pocock, off contract at the end of the Super Rugby season, is expected to make a decision about his future within coming weeks and is considering possible one-year sabbatical from Australian rugby to study in the UK.
