Mitchell faces Wallabies fitness test

Drew Mitchell’s involvement in Australia’s Rugby Championship clash with South Africa hinges on his ability to complete a gruelling day of training on Tuesday.

The veteran winger has not played for five months because of persistent groin problems but is likely to be parachuted into Saturday night’s Test at Suncorp Stadium if he can get through the full-contact session at Ballymore unscathed.

“I think we may have turned the corner, things are going alright,” Mitchell told reporters on Tuesday morning.
