Listening bug found in All Blacks hotel

A hidden listening device has been discovered in a New Zealand All Blacks’ hotel room in Sydney, with police investigating.

The device was uncovered during a routine security check on Monday, ahead of the team’s clash with the Wallabies on Saturday night.

“The hotel immediately launched an investigation, we have informed the Australian Rugby Union and jointly we have now decided to hand over the investigation to the Australian police,” New Zealand Rugby Union chief Steve Tew said.

A spokesman for the Intercontinental Sydney Double Bay hotel where the All Blacks were staying told AAP on Saturday morning management was investigating and hoped to have more information soon.

NSW police did not have any immediate information.
