Karmichael hunting down Wallabies jersey

Wallabies hopeful Karmichael Hunt is closing in on becoming a dual international just over a year after his reputation was in tatters.

Hunt was named in Michael Cheika’s 39-man training squad on Thursday for next month’s Test series against England and given his solid form and utility value, is a good chance to make the final cut ahead of the series opener in Brisbane on June 11.

His likely Test debut would come 15 months after the former NRL and AFL star pleaded guilty to four charges of cocaine possession at a Gold Coast court, with the 29-year-old admitting “the light was probably hard to see at the end of the tunnel” at that time.
