Japan stun Wales 23-8 in 2nd rugby Test

Japan made history on Saturday when they beat Six Nations champions Wales 23-8 for their first victory over a major rugby nation in almost 80 years of international competition.

Second-half tries from former Sydney Roosters and South Sydney NRL star Craig Wing and Michael Broadhurst re-wrote the record books for Japan against a depleted Wales in the second and final Test.

Japan had led 6-3 at halftime at Tokyo’s Chichibunomiya Stadium.

The Welsh were missing their head coach and 15 players who are with the British and Irish Lions in Australia.

Despite being seriously weakened, Wales managed to win last Saturday’s opening Test 22-18 at Kintetsu Hanazono Stadium.
