Hurricanes unchanged for Chiefs match

The Hurricanes will field an unchanged line-up when they take on Super Rugby champions the Chiefs for the first time this season.

Loose forward Victor Vito will again be the stand-in skipper for concussed centre Conrad Smith in Wellington on Friday night.

Smith was knocked out in the Hurricanes’ 48-14 defeat to the Bulls in Pretoria two rounds ago, and sat out the 39-34 win over the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last weekend.

He is eyeing a comeback against the Brumbies on May 31.

Blindside flanker Faifili Levave, who had one season with the Chiefs in 2008 before joining the Hurricanes, will reach 50 appearances for the Hurricanes when he runs on at Westpac Stadium.

Hurricanes: Andre Taylor, Alapati Leiua, Reynold Lee-Lo, Tim Bateman, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Victor Vito (captain), Jack Lam, Faifili Levave, Jason Eaton, Jeremy Thrush, Ben May, Ash Dixon, Ben Franks. Reserves: Reggie Goodes, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, James Broadhurst, Brad Shields, Chris Smylie, Tusi Pisi, James Marshall.
