The Western Force have signed former rugby league player Chris Tuatara-Morrison for the next two Super Rugby seasons.

New Zealand-born Tuatara-Morrison, a powerful inside back who weighs in at 100kg, spent time at the Sydney Roosters, Melbourne Storm, Wests Tigers, and Canterbury Bulldogs.

However, a switch to rugby union in 2012, where he has starred for Northern Suburbs in the Sydney Shute Shield competition this season, convinced new Force coach Michael Foley to take the punt on Tuatara-Morrison, who turns 26 on Tuesday.

“I was probably a bit stale in league and I knew I needed a change,” Tuatara-Morrison said.

“I was one of those kids that played rugby on Saturday and league on Sunday, so rugby’s never been too distant, and I feel like I’ve slotted back in fairly well.

“My aim at the moment is just to get one game, whether that be starting or on the bench.

“To get my debut would be a dream come true and I’ll be doing everything I can to make that occur next year.”
