Star Wallabies flanker David Pocock could be out of rugby for six months or more after sustaining a suspected ACL injury during the Brumbies’ Super Rugby match against the Waratahs.
Pocock was assisted from the field with a knee injury early in the first half at Canberra Stadium, with the initial diagnosis suggesting it was a torn ACL.
The loss of outstanding No.7 Pocock for that period of time would be a devastating blow for the Wallabies who have a jam-packed international schedule in 2013 including a highly anticipated British Lions series starting in June.
Pocock was replaced by Wallabies great George Smith, who was making his first Super Rugby appearance since leaving the franchise in 2010.
