Edmonds joins Gloucester in English rugby

Former Wallaby Huia Edmonds will join English club team Gloucester for the 2012-13 rugby season.

The former Waratahs, Stormers and Brumbies hooker will arrive at Kingsholm as the replacement for Scotland international Scott Lawson.

The 30-year-old made his Test debut against Fiji in June 2010, but was then ruled out of World Cup contention last autumn by a foot injury.

Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath said: “Huia is an experienced player who has performed consistently well at Super Rugby and international level.

“He’s an athletic, mobile, ball-playing hooker who has also worked incredibly hard on his set-piece work.”
