Uncapped Craig Burden from Coastal Sharks has replaced injured Bismarck du Plessis in the South Africa squad for the Rugby Championship return game against Argentina on August 25 in Mendoza.
Du Plessis suffered suspected torn ligaments after five minutes of the Test at Newlands on Saturday which the Springboks won 27-6 against the southern hemisphere championship debutants.
South Africa have been hit by hooker problems this week with Chiliboy Ralepelle withdrawing because of a training injury and Tiaan Liebenberg took his place.
Adriaan Strauss, who came on for Du Plessis, Liebenberg and Burden are among the 26 players chosen and there are also three scrum-halves – Francois Hougaard, Ruan Pienaar and Jano Vermaak.
Other two players added to the Newlands match 22 are prop Dean Greyling and lock Juandre Kruger with centre Juan de Jongh, fly-half Elton Jantjies and flank Siya Kolisi of the original two-Test squad left behind.
Former world champions South Africa have won all 14 Tests against Argentina since they first met in Buenos Aires 19 years ago, including seven in the South American country.
