Samoa have scored a late converted try to beat Australia 12-10 in the quarter-finals of the rugby sevens world series event in Las Vegas.
Lio Lolo scored under the posts inside the final minute with Vavao Afemai converting to book Samoa a semi-final berth against South Africa.
Australia were kept scoreless in the second half after leading 10-0 at halftime with unconverted tries to Cameron Clark and Peter Schuster.
The powerful Samoans opened the scoring inside the first two minutes of the second term when an unmarked Sani Niue touched down on the right edge before Lolo strolled over after recycled possession scattered the Australian defence.
South Africa charged into Monday’s (AEDT) semis with a 36-0 win over Argentina while Canada upset France 17-14 and will play world champions New Zealand, who crushed England 24-7
