Rachael Grinham crashed out of the first World Series squash tournament of 2012 in disappointing fashion on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old former World Open champion from Australia was the No.1 seed but looked out of sorts in the second round.
Grinham was well-beaten in straight games, 11-3 11-8 11-5, by Jaclyn Hawkes, the fifth seeded New Zealander.
Australian Donna Urquhart was seeded fourth but went down in five sets in her second-round clash with Indian Dipika Pallikal.
Pallikal edged Urquhart 11-9 11-5 7-11 10-12 11-9.
