The 2012 Sydney to Hobart seems destined to be a battle of two with Wild Oats XI and Ragamuffin Loyal nautical miles ahead of the field in betting with online bookmaker sportsbet.
Runner up last year, Wild Oats XI heads the betting for line honours at $1.45, with Ragamuffin Loyal next at $3.25.
The next closest entrant in betting is Lahana at $10.
“There’s been a bit of earlier money for Ragamuffin Loyal but as Boxing Day nears we expect to see Wild Oats XI as the best backed entry in the race by a margin,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
“At least one punter thinks there could be a massive upset though, wagering $1 on Shogun at $151 to win the race.”
