Aussie Ariarne is well over the odds at $7 to win gold but the insurance of a top two finish is well worth backing in here.

It will be her final event in Tokyo and I will back her to go out with a strong showing from Lane 7.

Best case scenario it comes down to a touch between her and the short priced favourite Ledecky on the wall.

BET: Ariarne Titmus to Win Silver or Gold at $1.80

Katie Ledecky has opened a clear and probably justifiable favourite in betting for the 800m Freestyle, but Ariarne Titmus has had her number all week, and I’m keen to take the $7 about her at publish.

Titmus’ rise to glory has been nothing short of outstanding, and it is fair to say that she has been the serious shining light for Australia at Tokyo 2020, winning both the 400m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle, and medalling in the Women’s 4x200m.

She probably would have to go to another level to knock off Ledecky over this distance, but I think that she can.
